SOSORT International Congress 2024: A Recap

From 1st to 4th May 2024, the SOSORT International Congress took place in Boston, USA, bringing together experts in the non-operative management of scoliosis.

The agenda featured cutting-edge topics such as 3D printing for bracing, the evolution of brace monitors and the use of biomechanical modelling and predictive analytics to optimise treatment for Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS). A notable highlight was the guest lecture by Dr. M. Timothy Hresko from Harvard Medical School, who discussed advancements in spinal guided growth.

Sessions also explored the aetiology and pathogenesis of scoliosis, including the implications of paediatric chest wall surgeries on scoliosis risk and a retrospective analysis of its co-occurrence with infantile chest surgeries. The event concluded with a lively Q&A session.

Sally was interested in seeing the talks from across the pond, plus she was delighted to see that she was welcomed as a new member of SOSORT at the event. She is looking forward to contributing to and learning from this esteemed organisation, ensuring her patients receive the most up-to-date and effective scoliosis treatments.
